Focus on Painting Classes are running on a Monday afternoon, 1-4pm.

COURSE STRUCTURE Week 1: Drawing for Still Life painting Weeks 2-3: Still Life Painting Using water-based oil and/or watercolours and will cover: painting method colour mixing hue, value and chromao colour systems seeing colour and light Week 4: Drawing for Life Painting Week 5-8: Painting the Human FormWill cover: composition colour of the lighto colour and form.

Painting in Pastel or Oil

This course is an introduction to painting en plein air. Demonstrations and practicals of the oil and pastel painting process will explore the properties of light, the colour of the light, aerial perspective, how to see colour in the landscape and composition. We will be painting small studies directly from life. 
Beginners and advanced students are welcome. The course is geared to the individual and you work at your own pace.

Lamp black and Titanium white.

You will also need:

Brushes: long bristled flats or you may prefer to use rounds, filberts etc..  

Canvas:  a piece of primed canvas which can be cut or a selection of panels such as 9 x 5, 10 x 8 etc

Rags: for cleaning brushes etc..

Palette knife

Easel (Tim can supply but bring your own if possible) 

Palette 

Willow charcoal (thin)

Hat. Tim has drawing boards to loan.

You may already have a range of pastels, in which case you can ignore this list.

The following list gives you a range of colours from which any colour can be mixed. But a wider range of tints, tones and shades would be more convenient  (The code numbers refer to the Talens Rembrandt brand, but you may prefer to choose from a different brand.)  PIGMENTS AND PALETTES HAVE SIMILAR IN SCHMINKE AND ART SPECTRUM

Life Drawing classes with Tim Miller

Our Term 1 weekly Focus on Drawing Classes will commence on Tuesday 19 February and Saturday 23 February  and run for 8 weeks. The tuition cost for the 8 x three hour weekly class is $400.

The weekly Tuesday morning class will run from 9:30-12:30 each Tuesday commencing on Tuesday 19 February

The weekly Saturday morning class will run from 10:00am-1:00pm each Saturday, commence on Saturday 23 October.

Life Drawing monthly Life Drawing studio

If your want to practice your life drawing with others, come along to our monthly Life Drawing studio afternoon.  Three hour non-tutored  sessions are scheduled for the first Saturday of the month 2-5:30pm as long as we have enough people keen to join us. Cost $30/session.   So either book on-line prior to the workshop or email us at dairycreative.com.au to confirm you are coming along.

New intakes into the Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening classes

New intakes into the Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening Life Drawing Classes with Master Tutor Tim Miller.

Tuesday class , 9:15-12:15 to commence on Tuesday 31 July.

Wednesday class , 06:00-9:00pm is ongoing. There will be a new intake into this class commencing on Wednesday 11 July.

The classes will be ongoing and you can join at any time. Attendees can either pay in four week blocks ($200 for four classes), or take out a  monthly subscription ($180) for a cheaper weekly rate and to help us plan ahead.
