Description
emphasising the design of light on the body
This one-day workshop will focus on the foundations of life drawing. With live demonstrations and reference to master works, students will learn to approach figure drawing in a manner that emphasises the design of light on the body. A simple and effective system of comparative measurement will be taught. This is particularly suitable to those students who wish to learn how they should approach the beginnings of a work that would be carried out over an extended period of time – either as a finished drawing or as the basis for a painting. There will also be ongoing reference to gesture, anatomy, form etc.
The day will involve a series of poses in the morning, during which students will get used to the approach. In the afternoon there will be one long pose, allowing time to apply what has been learned and take work to the next stage of refinement.
THIS WORKSHOP IS SUITABLE FOR ARTISTS OF ALL CAPABILITY LEVELS
