Life Drawing is the basic skill that enables you to both ‘see’ and ‘represent’ in drawn form. It is the base of so much artistic endeavour that follows from there. That is why our Atelier is based around our life drawing classes.

Our experienced and talented master tutor, Tim Miller, will lead us through a 10 week introduction to the principles and practice of life drawing from the model:

Drawing in charcoal, line, placement, proportions, scale, orientation, rotation, change of plane, emphasis, overlapping, foreshortening, visual perspective, edges, anatomy, function and form…

This course will equip the beginner, refresh the experienced and clarify the bewildered… and we expect to have a fair bit of fun amongst the serious work.

The advertised attendance fee is paid every 4 weeks in advance to cover tuition and the model. Light refreshments included during the 3 hour session each week.

9:15am-12:15pm Tuesdays

Atelier is the french description of a 'space' (lit.) where students gather, usually around a master artist, to develop skills at their own pace. It is different from a traditional school where a curriculum is pursued along a rigid timetable, and where examinations or other 'thresholds' of attainment define a student's participation and progression. In the Atelier mode, exploration and discovery are valued as a path toward achievement. The 'journey' is as important as the 'destination', together with the camaraderie along the way.

each session will be restricted to approximately 12 participants.
The atelier is on the top floor of dAIRY CReATivE at 50 Bentinck St, Bathurst.

I have just completed four weeks of life drawing with Tim Miller and have thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other students and Tim’s excellent tuition.
I haven’t done life drawing for many years and I found Tim’s relaxed caring but firm manner refreshing.
I feel much more confident now and just need to practice more. I travelled from Grenfell each week to attend and would thoroughly recommend this course.
I also would like to mention our model Sally who was very relaxed and put us all at ease right from the start.
Thank you dairy creative for providing an inspiring venue and excellent tuition.
    I will be back

Hi it’s Kathleen again, after attending the portraiture workshop held over the long weekend with excellent tuition by Sally Ryan from Sydney.
I want to thank the Dairy Creative again for hosting another master class standard workshop. Its wonderful to be able to attend such events without the travel involved in getting to Sydney.
I will certainly recommend this course
and the Dairy for art tuition of high standard. Thankyou Kathleen McCue
    Grenfell 😊
