d’AIRY CReATivE is excited to announce the return of Sally Ryan to the Atelier. The three day workshop will run from Friday 28th – Sunday 30 August 2020. Each day will run from 10-4pm.
Join Master tutor, Sally Ryan, Australian painter and portrait artist and spend 3 days developing a single full figure portrait painting from life. Working directly onto the canvas with paint, the full figure will initially be ‘blocked in’ and then carefully modelled over an extended period. All aspects of this process will be discussed and demonstrated with individual instruction given. The focus will be modelling form, colour mixing for painting flesh and paint handling. Some experience with drawing and painting is desirable but the workshop is suitable for all levels.
Sally is a member of Portrait Artist’s Australia and teaches portraiture and figure painting at Julian Ashton Art School. Sally’s style can be described as contemporary realism.

Sally is a professional artist with a style best described as “contemporary realism” and includes works in graphite, charcoal and oil with life-like representation of the subject being of utmost importance.
She has been a finalist in some of Australia’s most prestigious art prizes including the Archibald and Moran Prizes.
With formal qualifications in design and teaching she is a great tutor and mentor for anyone looking to either improve their skills or pursue a career based in the visual arts.
